Getting in an apartment

The cool part about December 31 was it was the last day in our motel. We woke up with hope of getting into our apartment but found out we were still missing some paper work and the office was closing at noon. At that moment we didn't know what would happen, everyday was turning out to be that way. My husband and I had gotten back from the hospital, when we received a phone call that the office manager said we could complete the paper work and move in. We were so relieved and couldn't believe it. We met her and got the key, went back and tried to get some friends to help clean before we moved in. Just because I was turning into a gem a phobe in a major way! So my bff's all went and cleaned from 2012 clear into 2013 it will be the start of a new year I will never forget! With a forcast of snow in the air we headed back to the motel to get ready for a happier new year.

December 27-30th Motel Week

Well the first 3 days were busy and scary. Nobody wanted to take charge or knew what to do. But spending a week with mom & dad in a motel room was beyond what I expected. My cousin and her husband, who was also my husband's high school friend. Came up with collected goods and supplies, when asked what was needed some of the things I needed was make-up I felt guilty about asking for any because eveything was gone but its one of those things ya just need. Alone with underware clothes ect... you never really thing about other people collecting things like that for you and all of a sudden it just doesn't matter. I was suprised how things fit and even if they were a little to small or even a little to big we still were able to wear them. Every night still was spent waking up and in the quite of the night I thought of Ginger. For breakfast I would go downstairs and cook waffles and have coffee with the family it was really sureal and became home away from home, it was the only time we had together before we all went out seprate ways for the day.

December 26/27 Day 2

After the fire dept came and put the fire out the only thing left was the floor. Our friends and family came out to. Give support and share in our grief. Dad was coughing smoke but refused to go be checked out in the ER. We took Mom to be checked out and to get her meds refilled, because she had lost them all in the fire. We had know idea if they would refill them for her because she had just had them filled the week before. Wal-Mart was great they called into Dr. Office and got the meds approved, mom had her meds by that evening. She lost her C-pap machine in the fire and wedidnt know what to do it would have to wait. We called the Red Cross; we were told they wouldn't be able to send anyone out until the next day. We didn't know what we were going to do about a place to sleep. We got a call from the redcross agent who had just got back into town from Kansas; he came on out and brought some personal care comfort bags and a blanket. He set up a money card and reviewed our needs, we got a motel to stay in for 3nights, mom & dad got money for clothes and food for a couple of days. The next morning we were all still in shock and not sure what to do. Mom didn't sleep well without her C-pap machine, she also needed it because of her heart problem. I called her C-pap supply company C-Pap Works and they arranged for her to get an extra machine they had; it was an older model but set up to where she could use it until she got another one. Great Blessing for us. We spent the dayat the indian clinic getting mine & my dad's meds, glasses ordered, paperwork done, it was our comand center for the day.

Ginger and Dad

We had Ginger less than a week when mom started having heart problems. On this day mal & I went to my aunts for a transport chair and left "grandma & grandpa" to babysit our Ginny Poodle, that was the start of everyone falling in love with Ginger. Grandpa bought strawberry icecream just for her. Oh how she loved her grandpa.

My life changed again but this time it was the biggest change of my life. My husband and I were at our friends house when I got a call from my mom. Their home was on fire; even though they had gotten out of the home, their 3 dogs and my dog Ginger were all trapped inside. We lost our home, our babies, and our lives were about to change. In a moment we were all left homeless. The Red Cross came out that evening and paid for three nights in a motel, and the motel gave us a discounted rate for a week.
